The legal team of presidential candidate Jusuf Kalla and Wiranto presented evidence to the Constitutional Court on Monday alleging violations occurred during the election process.

A member of the legal team, Indra J. Piliang, told kompas.com that the evidence related to discrepancies involving the registered electoral roll, vote counting process and other infringements.

“We filed complaints not only on the election results themselves but also on its process,” Indra said as the team arrived at the court building in Central Jakarta.

He said the electoral roll was considered legally invalid because it was not published one month prior to voting day.

“The General Elections Commission (KPU) instead released the roll on July 6, just two days before voting day. The roll used during the election was vastly different to our data,” he said.

He said he was expecting the Court to process the lawsuit and determine whether the election was staged legitimately or not. (ewd)
