Kalimantan hotel obtains green certification

BALIKPAPAN, E. Kalimantan: Novotel Balikpapan, the first International hotel in Kalimantan, located in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan has obtained a Green Globe certification.

The award is part of the Green Globe Earth Check certification program managed by EC3 Global. The global program recognized Novotel Balikpapan's commitment to operating at world environmental standards.

The hotel's general manager Vincent Wyber said Saturday that Novotel Balikpapan successfully used the Earth check trade mark tool on key environmental indicators, including energy and water consumption, total waste production and community commitment. "We could not have done it alone. It was a team effort from all departments at the hotel such as food and beverage, front office, house keeping and others. - JP
