NGO pushes for ratification of zoning bylaw

DENPASAR: The Bali branch of the Indonesia Environmental Forum (WALHI) has demanded the Bali Legislative Council (DPRD) not delay the ratification of the bylaw on zoning.

"The ratification must be carried out by this council because if we wait for the new council the whole process will be scraped by the new councilors and we will have to start all over again," branch head, Agung Wardana, said Saturday.

The council will end its tenure on Aug. 31 and will be replaced by the new one resulted from the recent legislative elections. - JP
