The Constitutional Court says the trial to settle presidential election disputes may begin on Aug. 4.
"We are going to begin filing the documents from plaintiffs as soon as we receive them so the trial can begin on Aug. 4," the court's deputy chief, Abdul Mukthie Fadjar, said Monday.
"The deadline for submitting the required documents is Tuesday at 10.22 a.m.”
Losing presidential candidates – the Golkar Party's Jusuf Kalla and Megawati Soekarnoputri from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) - and their campaign teams have refused to acknowledge the election results won by incumbent President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono of the Democratic Party with 60.8 percent of votes.(hdt)
