State construction company PT Wijaya Karya (Wika) posted a 51.01-percent increase in its net profit for the first half of this year as it secured more new contracts.
The company's net profit jumped to Rp 93.34 billion (US$9.4 million) from Rp 61.81 billion a year earlier, while its revenue increased slightly by 8.71 percent to Rp 2.9 trillion.
This rise comes because the company has managed to secure more new contracts with a value of Rp 5.5 trillion in the first half of this year—an increase of 22.3 percent as compared to those booked in the same period last year.
Wika president director Bintang Perbowo said on Wednesday that the company is targeting a net profit of Rp 175 billion by the end of this year.
