MAKASSAR: Malaysia will import a number of agricultural products, namely food and raw materials for industry, from South Sulawesi to meet its growing domestic requirements.
Malaysia's Agriculture Minister, Datok Noh Omar, told South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo on a visit Thursday that the neighboring country plans to import rice, corn, seaweed and cows from the province.
The minister said Malaysia required rice and cows for domestic consumption, while corn would be processed into cattle feed. Seaweed serves a number of purposes and can be added to medicines and cosmetic products. - JP
