The General Election Commission (KPU) on Sunday held a coordination meeting with the Provincial Election Commissions (KPUDs) to prepare themselves for potential lawsuits filed by losing presidential hopefuls Megawati Soekarnoputri and Jusuf Kalla at the Constitutional Court.

“This is an important meeting. We asked for all branches of the KPUD to gather all data on the electoral roll that can be used as evidence on cases about electoral fraud,” KPU's Chairman Abdul Hafidz Ansyhari told kompas.com.

He added that he was expecting his office and the KPUD to formulate arguments to counter the lawsuits.

“I hope we can finish the lawsuits before Ramadan month,” he said.

The KPU is scheduled to hold the meeting until tomorrow before facing the lawsuits on Tuesday. (ewd)
