"One of the patients was a 55-year-old foreign man. He died on Aug. 2. The other was a two-year-old Indonesian girl, who died on Aug. 3.
"Both were also suffering severe pneumonia at their time of death," Health Ministry director general for disease control and environmental health Tjandra Yoga Aditama said.
Data from the Health Ministry also revealed here Wednesday there were 43 new H1N1 patients, raising the total confirmed cases in the country to 662.
All of the new patients were Indonesian, with three having recently returned from Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.
Earlier, the ministry reported that the first victim, who had also suffered from pneumonia, was a 6-year -old who died two weeks ago.
However, a number of hospitals reported that at least another three people had died from H1N1 symptoms.
On Monday, Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital (RSCM) said the 2-year-old girl, who was believed to have been infected with H1N1, had died after being treated for several days at the hospital.
A 28-year-old Indonesian woman also reportedly died in Saudi Arabia from H1N1.
Another patient, a 24-year-old woman allegedly infected with H1N1, died on Sunday at Persahabatan Hospital, Jakarta.
Pati regional hospital (RSUD) RAA Soewondo in Central Java said a 27-year-old patient, suspected of having contracted H1N1, died on Tuesday after four days' treatment.
"The patient had been receiving treatment in an isolated room to follow procedures for treating suspected cases of H1N1 infection," hospital director Subawi said as quoted by Antara.
In Malang, East Java, five students at an Islamic boarding school tested positive to H1N1, leading local authorities to declare a state of emergency.
In Bandar Lampung, 16 students from another Islamic boarding school also tested positive and hundreds of other students were believed to have been infected.(hdt)
