City to issue next year green building bylaw

JAKARTA: In a bid achieve its dream of more energy-efficient buildings in Jakarta, the city administration will issue a bylaw next year on green buildings, an official says.

"We hope we can start implementing it in early 2010," Hari Sasongko, head of the Jakarta Property Management and Control Agency, said Thursday.

He added his office was still working on the technical guidelines to construct green buildings. - JP
