‘Post’ wins environmental award for climate change coverage

The Jakarta Post won an environmental award for its coverage of the impacts of climate change that has helped boost public awareness of the climate crisis.

State Minister for the Environment Rachmat Witoelar handed the award to the Post, represented by managing editor, Riyadi Suparno, on Monday.

Three mass media organizations received the ministry’s first-ever environmental awards for outstanding reporting on environmental affairs.

The country’s largest newspaper Kompas won two awards, for environmental journalism and for the best environmental photography.

The Jakarta Globe won an award in the new media category for having an environmental section.
