$46,000 grant given to Wayang Museum

JAKARTA: The Wayang Museum in the Old Town heritage area of West Jakarta has received a US$46,000 grant from the US government, to develop the museum and attract visitors.

Jakarta Culture and Tourism Agency head Arie Budhiman said his office would use the grant to fund several museum programs, including new additions to its collection, improving displays and promotional campaigns.

"The fact that a foreign government is paying attention to the wayang makes us proud," Arie said as quoted by city's official website, beritajakarta.com. - JP
