Massive beach search underway to find missing boy in Banten

Over 100 workers from the National Search and Rescue joint team continue searches Tuesday for 12-year old Lazuardi, who went missing with his older brother and father at Karang Kitri beach in Anyer, Banten on Monday afternoon.

It has now emerged that the trio may have drowned due to treacherous wave conditions. Lazuardi's father Anas Jaenuri (45) and brother Laksono Setiawan (23) were found dead Monday afternoon.

Local police chief Adj. Comr. Kamdyah informed tempointeraktif.com Tuesday that the search had been halted Monday evening due to hazardous conditions at sea.

Kamdyah said the team, comprising police officers and Navy soldiers, would comb the stretch of shoreline from Anyer beach to Karang Bolong beach in hopes of finding the missing boy. (dre)
