JAKARTA: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Wednesday searched the offices of radio communications company PT Masara Radiokom, as part of its investigations of a bribery case.

KPK spokesman Johan Budi told reporters that his team were searching for evidence.

The anti-graft body has been investigating a case in which the company's director, Anggoro Widjojo, has been named a suspect.

Anggoro has been accused of having an involvement in the embezzlement of funds from a Rp 180 billion (US$18 million) procurement deal for a radio communications system (SKRT) by the Forestry Ministry, between 2006 and 2007.

Anggoro is suspected of having bribed former legislator Yusuf Erwin Faishal and other members of House Commission IV overseeing forestry and agriculture including Fachri Andi Leluasa, Hilman Indra and Azwar Chesputra.

The Corruption Court has sentenced Yusuf to four-and-a-half years in prison for his role in this and another bribery case. -JP
