Soekarno-Hatta tightens up security to guard against terrorism

Soekarno Hatta Airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II has increased security measures at the airport in a bid to prevent terrorism attack, Antara news agency has reported.
The company's spokeman Trisno Heryadi said Saturday that the management instituted stricter entry inspections on passengers, baggage, cargo and vehicles entering the airport area.
The airport has also post security officers on every important objects and places in the airport area and also set up hidden surveillance camera at 300 spots.
Security officers, Trisno said, will search every passenger from top to toe.
The airport was also intensifying coordination with the police, military and the State Intelligence Agency, he said.
Previously, media has reported that a terror suspect Muhammad Syahrir, one of three wanted men suspected of having been involved in suicide bombings in Jakarta on July, was believed to be planning aviation-related terror attack.
Syahrir had went to an aviation school and had been working as a technician in an aviation company. (dre)
