DENPASAR: The high-profile murder of local journalist A.A. Narendra Prabangsa will be tried soon at the Denpasar District Court, despite the crime having taken place in Bangli regency.

Nine suspects will go on trial, including the alleged mastermind, I Nyoman Susrama, the brother of Bangli Regent Nengah Arnawa.

Bali Police crime division head Sr. Comr. Wilmar Marpaung said the trial would be held in Denpasarfor security reasons.

"We're anticipating possible intimidation by Susrama's cronies, who number a great deal in Bangli," he said.

The murder came to light in mid-February, when Narendra's body was found floating in the sea off Padang Bai. The Radar Bali editor had been bludgeoned to death. - JP
