The National Police counterterrorism unit, Detachment 88, has confiscated evidence from a house belonging to Abu Jibril, father of Mohamad Jibril, who is being questioned by police for his alleged role in the July 17 terrorist bombings.

Investigators seized two lap tops from Abu's house in Pamulang during a raid last night. Earlier in the day they seized four computers from the office of Arrahmah.com, a website Mohamad Jibril help found.

Abu Jibril told kompas.com that the officers had come into the house and asked where his son’s room was.

“They then took two lap tops, one belonging to Mikail Abdurrahman [Mohammad Jibril’s brother] and the other from a guest,” Abu said.

M.Fahri, managing editor of Arrahmah.com, said that around 20 officers had come to his office at 11.30 p.m.

“They showed us an official letter to search the office and questioned our employees. But none of my workers were detained,” M. Fahri said.

The police arrested Mohammad Jibril for allegedly helping to finance the bombings of two five-star hotels in South Jakarta last month. (ewd)
