PALEMBANG: South Sumatra Transportation, Communication and Information Agency expects this year the stream of homecoming visitors (arus mudik) in the province will increase in numbers by 20 percent, with many preferring to use motorcycles.
Agency head Sarimuda said Wednesday the estimate was based on the increasing number of people who had bought motorcycles from dealers. "There could be up to 8 million travellers this year. To anticipate the possibility of numbers skyrocketing, we have received six more railway cars from the government to accommodate them." - JP
