Soulmate, life partner, spouse, our better half: Call it what you will, but except for the misanthropes among us, most of us are looking for that special someone who will, in the sap of romantic novelists the world over, complete us.
If often happens that we find the love of our life is very different from what we expected or dreamed of. And relationships often don't go the way we think they will. But often it is about finding a balance or middle ground or compromise, like couples from different socio-economic backgrounds, cultures or faiths. As we learn from the experiences of many of the couples in this issue, devoted to marriage and relationships, it is about respecting each other and growing together.'
Our main story examines the changes in the traditional marital ways in recent years, along with the changing position of women in society. There are many other perspectives on marriage in this issue, including the case for staying single, despite the constant nudging to do the “right thing” and wed.
Among our profiles is Oppie Andaresta, whose latest song’s catchy refrain “I’m single and very happy” has been embraced by many contented singletons around the country. A mother of one, Oppie is enjoying married life, but she says it hasn’t changed who she is, except for the better. Perhaps the key in any relationship is to remember that it’s a partnership where both parties can grow and find themselves in the security of being together.

nice article, short but nice.i agree that both parties should find security & grow together without losing their own indentity. but i guess some coupples dont feel ease or comfortable in their marriage, it's like there's something wrong in their marriage. i, myself, prefer to stay single till now, just like oppie's song "i'm single and very happy". although i'm not happy all d'time, but at least i dont think my self miserable and i dont put any pity on me just for being single ^_^
