JAKARTA: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will fly to the US in September to attend the G20 Summit in Pennsylvania, hosted by President Barack Obama, according to official information released by the State Palace.

State Secretary Hatta Radjasa said here Thursday the President would attend the G20 Summit in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from Sept. 24 to 26.

Yudhoyono will then attend a business gathering and deliver a speech at Harvard University.

"The President will deliver a speech at Harvard University on Indonesia; on its progress and future. Then we will research renewable energy industries," Hatta said. However, he said that Yudhoyono would be absent from the UN General Assembly meeting in New York scheduled for Sept. 21 because the President wanted to celebrate Idul Fitri in Indonesia.

"It's not the right time because it will coincide with lebaran *Idul Fitri holiday - due to fall on Sep. 21-22*."

Hatta said the President might also conduct bilateral meetings with leaders from other countries, but not the ones proposed to take place in New York. - JP
