Jakarta should build 25 air monitoring stations to regularly check air quality in the city, says a city administration official.
Head of the environment management agency at the city administration Peni Susanti said Sunday only two air monitoring stations in the city were working as the other three were broken.
"We will add just one more station this year, near the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle," she said as quoted by kompas.com.
She said the air monitoring station would help the Jakarta administration decide on environmental policies such as car use reduction and gas emission tests.
