PALEMBANG: Authorities at the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin International Airport have intensified security ahead of the Idul Fitri holiday season.

General Manager of state airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II, Yon Sugiono, said Monday that his office had reactivated 31 closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras and set up temporary posts at the airport.

"We have installed CCTVs in some parts of the airport. This is routine ahead of the holiday season," Yon said.

He added that his office would wiretap some phone conversations at the airport.- JP
