JAKARTA: The Jakarta administration will start the long-postponed dredging of 13 major rivers in the city by early next year, Governor Fauzi Bowo said Thursday.
The Rp 1.5 trillion (US$151 million) project, funded by loans from the World Bank, has long been delayed because the municipal administration has not received the money from the Finance Ministry.
The governor said the ministry is now finalizing the process.
"The process is almost completed. Hopefully we can start the project in January or February next year, when the rainy season comes." - JP
