President-elect Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono Sunday renewed his calls for coalition party members to continue their solidarity in the government and parliament over the next five years.

He made the remarks during a gathering between the Democratic Party and its coalition partners in Jakarta, which coincided with breaking of the fast.

"We have agreed to fight together. Insha Allah [God willing] we will also continue our togetherness to continue building our beloved nation," Yudhoyono said before hundreds of participants of the event, some of who represented by political parties that have established a coalition with the Democratic Party.

He further said such solidarity could be realized in the form of partnership in the parliament and the government, including in the Cabinet and in other government institutions at both central and local levels.

"And the partnership must also be built among other development actors; not just the government, but also the private sector, higher education institutions and NGOs."
