ANTARA: The Surabaya administration is planning to send home commercial sex workers that do not have identification documents stating their residence in the municipality. The administration plans to conduct a series of raids in the near future.
Sutadi, the assistant overseeing administrative affairs, said Thursday the administration had made an agreement with district heads and pimps in the region regarding the sex workers in their respective jurisdictions.
"They agreed to retain the same number of sex workers before and after the Idul Fitri exodus," Sutadi said. He added that if the number exceeded the agreed total, then new sex workers who did not have Surabaya identification documents would be sent home.
"They will be given Rp 100,000 each to cover their travel costs," he added. - JP
