Racing past Singapore's Formula One

F

or the second year in a row, Singapore's initiative, the night race Formula One, ended on Sunday.

The Singtel Singapore Grand Prix in Marina Bay, Singapore, finished with McLaren's Lewis Hamilton snatching the top podium spot.

It was Hamilton's second win in five races, 11th of his career. The win was the 60th of the McLaren-Mercedes partnership.

Toyota's Timo Glock came in second. Glock equaled his and Toyota's best finish. It was the German's second podium of the season, third of his career.

Coming in third, Renault's Fernando Alonso did his best for a team hit by multiple blows after being punished for a race-fixing scandal at last year's maiden race, where he won from a deliberate crash by teammate Nelson Piquet Jr. It was Alonso's first podium of the year.

Ten teams competed in the race running from Sept. 25 to Sept. 27.
