Pakistani authorities have arrested 11 Indian fishermen accused of encroaching into territorial waters in the Arabian Sea.
Maritime Security Forcesofficial Shakeel Ahmed says two Indian boats sailed into Pakistani waters Wednesday. A patrol detained the fishermen and seized their vessels.
Ahmed says the fishermen were handed over Thursday to Pakistani police and they will be jailed.
Pakistan and India have a history of bitter relations and often arrest and imprison each other's fishermen for violating territorial waters. Both sides have freed scores of such prisoners, but hundreds are still believed held in jails.
