Inflation in September rose 1.05 percent from a month earlier as demand increased during the fasting month and Idul Fitri holidays, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) announced Thursday.
Year-on-year inflation rose 2.83 percent; and inflation between January and August reached 2.28 percent.
"Inflation below 4 percent may be reached with three months left," BPS head Ruswan Heriawan told a press briefing.
The central bank has said inflation will be lower than 4 percent this year. Usually inflation hovers between 6 percent and 7 percent annually.
