Jakarta sends aid to quake-hit city of Padang

The central government sent 40 tons of aid to Padang on Thursday following Wednesday's earthquake which has killed at least 200 people and destroyed thousands of buildings.
National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) spokesman Priyadi Handoko said 35 tons of blankets, tents, and power generators were allocated to the quake victims left homeless, kompas.com reported.
The Health Ministry had prepared 2 tons of medicines, while the Social Ministry had allotted 3 tons of food, he added.
