After two days of closure due to a major earthquake on Wednesday, a half of 28 gas stations in the West Sumatra capital of Padang resume operation on Friday.
Pertamina's Vice President Communication Basuki Trikora Putra told Antara news agency that the other gas stations would reopen as soon as possible.
Basuki said the closure was a result of either shortage of available employees or the damaged infrastructure.
However, the fuel and gas supply in the province is secure, he added.
"The fuel stock will be enough for four days, while diesel fuel stock will be for 20 days. The supply of aircraft fuel at the Minangkabau Airport is also safe at least until the next 13 days," Basuki said.
Basuki added Pertamin had deployed 10 truck tanks to provide free kerosene to the public.
