Chandra, Bibit, banned from leaving RI: AGO

Attorney General Hendarman Supandji said Friday that the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) had asked the immigration office to issue a one-year travel ban for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspended deputies, Chandra M. Hamzah and Bibit Samad Rianto, to prevent them from leaving the country.

The ban was requested by the police, Hendarman said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

Chandra and Bibit were named suspects last week by the police for alleged abuse of power in imposing and lifting travel bans on graft suspects Anggoro Widjojo and Joko S. Tjandra.

Both Anggoro and Joko are now fugitives.

Hendarman added that the police would hand over the dossiers of Chandra and Bibit's cases to the prosecutors later in the day.
