JAKARTA: The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has asked the immigration authorities to issue a one-year travel ban to two suspended Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputies, Chandra M. Hamzah and Bibit Samad Rianto, Attorney General Hendarman Supandji said on Friday.

The ban was initially requested by the police, Hendarman said, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

The two suspended KPK deputies are suspected of having abused their power when they imposed and subsequently lifted travel bans on graft suspects Anggoro Widjojo and Joko S. Tjandra. Both Anggoro and Joko are now fugitives.

Hendarman added that the police would hand over Chandra and Bibit's dossiers to the prosecutors later in the day. - JP
