KPK team of 5 to meet President today

JAKARTA: The team of five on the recently composed KPK selection committee will meet President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Monday to submit three names for the interim leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Presidential spokesman Andi Malarangeng said Sunday that the president had been intended to receive the names of the KPK interim leaders on Thursday last week, but he had to go to Padang to monitor earthquake aid management.

However, Andi said he did not yet know the schedule for installing the KPK interim leaders in their jobs.

KPK chairman Antasari Azhar and his two deputies, Bibit Samad Rianto and Chandra M. Hamzah, have meanwhile been declared suspects in different crimes. - JP
