JAYAPURA: The Papua administration will send Rp 1 billion (US$ 100,000) in cash, and medicine worth Rp 200 million for earthquake victims in Padang and Jambi.
Henock Paruro, spokesperson for the administration, said on Tuesday that the team led by the Papua Governor Barnabas Suebu would depart with the aid for Jakarta.
"The team will go to Padang tomorrow morning to hand over the aid."
Besides aid from the administration, he added, the Batak community had also provided similar aid to the victims. "This is part of our solidarity with our brothers who are suffering because of the quake," he said. - JP
