SMS: New KPK leaders

Your suggestions to the newly appointed interim leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) - Mas Achmad Santosa, Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean and Waluyo - by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to replace the three KPK leaders, who have been named suspects by the police
The three new interim leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) have to be independent and win the public's confidence back.
They should therefore focus on three things: winning the public's trust, fostering a spirit of leadership and coordinating with the police, the Attorney General's Office and the House of Representatives.
This coordination is important to avoid any misunderstanding between the four institutions.

The new KPK leaders have to be able to unearth conspiracies behind crimes, including in the Bank Century case, without any kind of intervention from anyone, even if the anticorruption body is weak at the moment.

New brooms always sweep cleaner - this is a European proverb. If the three newly appointed members of KPK stick to their mission to eradicate corruption in Indonesia, if they are strong enough to reject bribes of massive proportions, if they are able to work independently without the continuous meddling of authorities, if they can stick to their principles of honesty and transparency and if they are able to withstand outside influence from powerful individuals, then the country should welcome KPK's newly appointed leaders.
I am rather skeptical about the newly appointed member from Pertamina as the state oil company is known to be rife with corruption. And how did this man perform during his tenure? Did he hand over corrupt members of Pertamina's management to the KPK in the past?
PT Pos was recently involved in a big corruption scandal. Was this ever resolved? Were the guilty parties ever brought to justice? The majority of Indonesians were relieved when the KPK was formed because it is a tool to eradicate corruption in this country.
But the past corruption scandals within the KPK have caused many of us to lose confidence in the antigraft body and we are now mistrusting the leadership of the KPK.
The three new KPK leaders should therefore do their utmost to win the public's trust again and they should prove that they are serious and not afraid to thoroughly re-investigate Susno and other powerful figures.
