JAKARTA: Djaelani, father of terror suspects M. Syahrir and Syaifuddin Zuhri, apologized to the public on Saturday for what his two sons had done and would bow to pressures to bury them outside their hometown Kuningan in West Java.

Djaelani said Syahrir and his brother Syaifuddin would be buried in Pondok Rangon public cemetery in East Jakarta as soon as the police confirmed their death following a raid on a boarding house in Ciputat, South Tangerang on Friday.

The family previously buried Syaifuddin's brother-in-law Ibrohim in Pondok Rangon, who was killed in a raid in Temanggung, after neighbors objected to local burial.

"If the police confirm the two people shot dead were my sons, we apologize," Djaelani told tempointeraktif.com. He hoped for no further acts of terrorism, which had claimed hundreds of lives. - JP
