KPK lawyers to submit names for team to re-question Susno

Lawyers for the embattled Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputies will submit seven names for their proposed independent team to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Wednesday to question National Police chief detective Comr. Gen. Susno Duadji for abuse of power.

Lawyer Ahmad Rivai said the President had indicated he might accept the candidates, kompas.com reported Monday.

The seven candidates for the independent team include Syafii Maarif, Teten Masduki, Hikmahanto Juwana and Jimly Asshiddique.

"We will meet Pak Syafii to discuss this matter," Ahmad said Monday.

Susno is widely accused of leading a witch hunt in his naming of KPK deputy chairmen Chandra Hamzah and Bibit Samad Riyanto as graft suspects.
