Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputy chairmen, Chandra Hamzah and Bibit Waluyo, suspects in cases of power abuse and bribery, will meet President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday to explain their case.

Ahmad Rivai, one of their lawyers, said that with their legal team, the deputy chairmen will explain to the president that they have been falsely charged in the cases . The meeting is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.

Bibit and Chandra were named suspects after the KPK put Anggoro Widjojo, a suspect of the Masaro graft case, on the national travel-ban list. The police accused both deputy leaders of taking bribes from Anggoro to stop the graft investigations involving his company, PT Masaro Radiokom.

Rivai said that the lawyers have evidence indicating that allegations against his clients were based on false testimony and engineered documents.

He said that the set-up against his clients involve higher positions in several law enforcement institutions.
