The Indonesian Military (TNI) sends 175 soldiers of the equipment and engineering division in another United Nations peacekeeping mission in Congo.
The contingent, which belongs to TNI Kontingen Garuda XX-G led by Lt. Col. Arnold Ritiauw, was sent off by TNI Chief General Djoko Santoso in a ceremony in Jakarta on Wednesday, Antara news agency reported.
The troops will replace Kontingen Garuda XX-F, also an engineering task force in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which was about to conclude its one-year assignment.
The troops are to take part in the international peace operation in Congo by assisting the establishment of infrastructure facilities such as roads, airports and electricity supplies.
