JEMBER: Police said Tuesday they had arrested two persons for allegedly using and growing marijuana in Jember, East Java.
The police confiscated material evidence from the suspects, including 0.5 grams of dried marijuana and two marijuana trees.
Jember Police chief of anti-drug unit Adj. Comr. Edi Sudarto said the two suspects, identified as AS, 32, and AP, 25, were both residents of Sempolan village in Silo district.
Edi said the arrests followed a tip off from local villagers who reported a suspicious drug party at the house of one of the two suspects. The police then raided the house and arrested the two and three others, including a nurse.
The latter three were later released after the police failed to find illegal drugs in their urine.
Edi said the two suspects admitted to planting marijuana trees for personal consumption. - JP
