JAKARTA: Comedian and presenter Olga Syahputra is feeling sad enough after the recent earthquake jolted his hometown of Padang in West Sumatra, but making it worse for him is not getting any news about the woman his mother plans to introduce to him.
According to Olga, his mother has planned to arrange a date between him and the woman in Padang, in the hope it will lead to marriage.
"Last Lebaran *Idul Fitri or Islamic New Year celebration*, my mother said: *Olga, there's a girl who likes you; do you want me to introduce her to you?'" says the 26-year-old. "My mother then asked me to visit the girl in Padang."
Before the much-awaited day arrived, however, the tremors rocked Padang and Olga says his family has since lost contact with his potential future wife.
"I'm worried a lot about that girl," says the comedian, who's known for his feminine roles on the screen and stage. "I hope she and all of her family are all right." - JP
