Musicians protest art center's demolition

PURWOKERTO: Dozens of musicians and other artists rallied Thursday against the local regency administration to stop its planned demolition of the Banyumas Art Center in Central Java.

The Banyumas administration plans to build a traditional market instead. "The center should be developed to promote the world of art in Banyumas," said Bambang Set, the head of the center who held the peaceful rally. - JP
