5.2 quake hits Gorontalo

An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Gorontalo on Saturday morning, but no damages were reported.
Antara reported that most residents in Gorontalo felt the quake, but they remained in their houses as the duration of the quake was very short.
Mahdi, one of Gorontalo residents, told Antara that he felt the quake, but it did not create any panic in his neighborhood.
According to data from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency, the epicenter of the quake was located at 60 kilometers Northeast of Gorontalo at the depth of 30 kilometers under the sea.
Gorontalo is one of the areas in Sulawesi prone to earthquake. In November 2008, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit the area.
