Election process starts Nov. 5

DENPASAR: The regional election process for five regions in Bali will begin on Nov. 5, an election official said Thursday.

"The process will be started by updating the list of potential voters. The list will be checked and verified in order to ensure that all eligible voters will have a chance to participate in the elections," Bali Regional Election Commission (KPUD) Dewa Raka Sandi said.

Simultaneously, the election commissions at the respective regions would finish the process of recruiting members of the election supervisory committee (Panwaslu).

Residents of Tabanan, Denpasar, Badung, Bangli and Karangasem will vote in the regional elections to select new regents or mayors for the regions, on May 4, 2010. - JP
