INDONESIA: China has congratulated the appointment of Marty Natalegawa as the new foreign minister and Djoko Suyanto as coordinating minister for political, legal and security affairs.
"To strengthen the strategic partnership between China and Indonesia serves the fundamental interest of the people of both countries and is conducive to the peace, stability and prosperity of this region and the world at large," said Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo and Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi in a press release sent to The Jakarta Post.
They also said that relations between China and Indonesia had established deep political mutual trust, developed booming cooperation in various fields and kept good coordination on regional and international issues. - JP
