The Pati administration in Central Java has closed a limestone mine in Kedungwinong after Monday’s landslide killed five people.

Pati deputy regent Kartina Sukawati said Tuesday the mining site would only be reopened should there be better safety conditions.

The landslide occurred on Monday night at 10 p.m. following heavy rain.

The victims have been identified as Sutikno (29), Narti (25), Kuntini (48), Prihatin (35), and Tungki (14).
