As an attempt to improve its services to society, the Tangerang municipal administration has opened five gateways to receive suggestions from community members.
“We have just launched a guest book on the administration’s website www.tangerangkota.go.id and visitors can post complaints, criticism, suggestions about the administration’s performance, public services and the ongoing developmental programs,” Saiful Rohman, head of the municipal information and communication agency, said Thursday.
As well as the website’s guest book, the administration has provided a telephone and fax number, 021-55764955 and 021554764957, which are manned 24 hours a day for community members to communicate their aspirations.
“The administration has also opened a Hallo Walikota (hallo mayor) Page in a local daily newspaper, where community members can channel their aspirations, Mayor Wahidin Halim will reply to all letters sent to the paper every Monday,” he said.
Saiful said in the near future, the administration would launch two more portals called community access points and an SMS gateway to enhance communication.
According to Saiful, the administration website receives an average 2,000 visitors each day and at least 50 visitors leave comments in the guest book.
“We will reply to any comments visitors post in the guest book within two or three hours and visitors can check it later,’ he added.
