SMS: Haj services

Your comments on the much higher accommodation and transportation fees charged to Indonesian Haj pilgrims compared to those from other countries.
Overpriced and poor service Haj trips is just another by-product of massive corruption, which is still ongoing in the government institutions.
SBY needs to show his seriousness in eradicating corruption by fully supporting the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
Then the KPK needs to do a thorough investigation of the government agencies in charge of the Haj affairs.

It has been happening for a long time. Who are going to be blamed? Relevant officials or institutions, which are responsible for handling the service.
I do really hope that the new Cabinet, especially the Religious Affairs Ministry, will carry out better services.
Many people talk about many corruption, nepotism and collusion in the ministry.

I don't think Indonesian haj pilgrims have any problem with the much higher fees and lower quality service. You can see that from the escalating number of Indonesians who go on the haj every year.
If not for the quota restriction, there would be more. There are those who have done the haj 10 times. The government should simply improve the organizer's management.

It is the task of the newly appointed Religious Affairs Minister Suryadharma Ali to address the problem. He should remember that this journey is a divine obligation, the last obligation for the faithful.
Nobody has a right to mess with it, unless he or she is not afraid of the final judgment.
The ministry should not profit from this ritual, but improve services and lower fees.
