China's Health Ministry says two more people have died of swine flu on the mainland, bringing its death toll to six.
The ministry said late Friday that China had reported 2,972 confirmed cases of H1N1 virus in 48 hours ending Friday afternoon.
No more details were available of the two deaths.
The agency says there are 82 serious cases of swine flu, of which 29 have recovered, out of a total of 44,981 cases of swine flu recorded in the mainland since the outbreak.
The count does not include Macau or Hong Kong, which have separate health systems.
China is moving aggressively to vaccinate vulnerable groups, such as students, with the start of the cold winter weather and flu season.
