DENPASAR: The city administration continued its mass-culling drive, targeting stray dogs in an effort to contain the rabies epidemic that has affected four regions on the island.

"We are only targeting stray dogs. The owners of pet dogs have been told to either leash their dogs or place them inside a cage," said Denpasar Veterinary Agency head Dewa Made Ngurah.

In a culling drive at Sumerta Kaja village, officials killed as many as 50 dogs in a single day. - JP
