Inflation in October rose 2.57 percent from last year

Inflation in October rose 2.57 percent from a year earlier, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) announced Monday, predicting full-year inflation would be lower than the government's estimate of 4.5 percent.

"It seems inflation will be lower than the government's target," BPS head Rusman Heriawan said in a press conference.

In October, inflation rose 0.19 percent from the previous month, according to the BPS. Between January and October, inflation reached 2.48 percent.

Inflation last month was mostly contributed to by processed foods, beverages and cigarettes.
